Hmmm…a retreat on the subject Parenting for Purity? WHY?
First, purity is too important to expect our children to figure it out for themselves like many of us had to do. And secondly, today’s culture gives teens the strong, untrue message that purity is a curse. In today’s world, this question is posed: “How can a young man or woman keep their way pure? By living according to God’s Word.” Psalm 119:9
PARENTING FOR PURITY RETREAT is designed for parents (both couples and singles) who are nearing or in the midst of raising teenagers. In fact, if you have young children, this retreat is perfect as well because it is never too early to guide your child’s heart toward God’s ways. We will study the Word of God and using the “Purity and Holiness” curriculum created by author and speaker, Bob Tissot, a favorite Inspiration Point retreat guest. Greg and Janet Anderson will be leading us through this eye opening biblical instruction and facilitating discussion among the guests.
As our children journey through this life, God has called us as parents to guide them positively in His ways. Yes, the path can lead to dangerous climbing and places where their feet will slip, but it is our prayer as parents that the passage through this stage in life may be kept pure. Yet, we know that in this sinful world we will have troubles. Some of our children have already sacrificed their purity. In these times, we must remember that we believe in a God who heals, forgives, and restores. It is the Lord who gives us a clean heart and purifies us from all unrighteousness. Take a stand in your family for purity. Come away to The Point for a weekend of training and encouragement as together we learn to lead our children down the path of understanding that purity is not a curse, it is a blessing from God! |
This seminar-style retreat was one in which each of the guests left feeling encouraged and equipped to teach and lovingly show how God's desire for purity in the lives of our children and youth in our communities is a blessing. One parent wrote: "We've always known we want the kids' hearts, not just their behavior, to be pure. It was so helpful to have some scriptural principles on how to accomplish this. Thank you." |
