Giving to Inspiration Point
Want to spend a free weekend at camp?  Here's your chance!  Join us May 16-17, 2008 for the annual Spring Work Weekend.
Inspiration Point is blessed to receive and depends on support from people who believe in its mission. All monetary gifts and gifts in kind are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
Can You Help Us Find These Items?

Perhaps you would consider donating a quality used item or purchasing a new item for Inspiration Point. Please contact the camp if you are able to help with any of the following needs:

You asked, and we listened. Over the years, we have had many requests to instate an automatic, electronic giving program that makes it easy for you to give on a monthly basis to Inspiration Point, with little or no work on your part. Thrivent Financial’s Simply Giving ® is a modern-day stewardship program that is convenient, safe, and a simple way for you to make contributions through electronic funds transfer (EFT) directly from your checking or savings accounts. The Simply Giving ® program is designed to help you conveniently, consistently, and joyfully give financial gifts to the ministry here at The Point. By participating in this program, you can use electronic funds transfer to give your weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly offering.

Did you know that you have access to fraternal funds through Giving Plus that make your charitable gifts to Inspiration Point go farther?  Why wait? Give a gift, fill out the application and send it with your gift to camp. That's all there is! It’s easy! You are allowed to give any gift up to $600 and Thrivent will match your gift 50 cents on the dollar!
In addition, if you donate an eligible gift, and contribute 25 or more hours to Inspiration Point, an additional $25 will be given to camp by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

If you are looking for a means of sharing in the ministry of Inspiration Point, and are willing to join our volunteer team, please contact the camp office.  We are looking for help with maintenance, carpentry, mailings (Fergus Falls office), cleaning, spring lawn work, and much more.  If staying at camp for a weekend or a couple of weekdays to work on a project is something you would be interested in, we have a cozy, furnished retreat home by the lake for extended stay volunteers.  Enjoy watching the sun set over Spitzer Lake after serving around the camp during the day.  Stays of up to 10 days are available.  All we ask is that you give at least five hours of service for each day of your stay.  The home is furnished with new queen-size beds, a full kitchen, and attractive living areas. Hear what one person who took advantage of this opportunity had to say about her experience:

Each year numerous gifts are given in memory of loved ones. These thoughtful gifts honor the lives of those who are memorialized and also ensure guests can come away to Inspiration Point for years to come, experiencing Christian camping at its best through up-to-date facilities and the life-giving message of Jesus Christ clearly proclaimed in all of our programming. Please consider honoring the memory of a loved one by giving to the ministry of Inspiration Point.

One of the things we say a lot around here is that we never want finances to be a reason a student is unable to attend camp, and that’s why we have our Camp Scholarship Program. Many churches have their own scholarship programs, aiding families in sending their kids to camp; however, some families need more assistance than what their church can provide. Furthermore, some youth attend a church that does not offer scholarship assistance, while others are not affiliated with any church. It is for these reasons that the Inspiration Point scholarship program exists. In the summer of 2007, we were able to award scholarships to 67 kids.

As you plan for the future, would you please keep the ministry of Inspiration Point in mind? Supporting camp through your estate allows you to give as you wish, meet your personal financial goals, and take advantage of tax benefits. For more information on how this might apply to you, please contact Greg Anderson at the camp office.
